FEMA for Kids | Ready Kids
FEMA for Kids is a Web site for children, hosted on the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s site. The interface is kid-friendly and includes games and cartoons that help children learn about what causes disasters and what they can do to be prepared. The site holds information and supportive materials, including curriculum, for parents and teachers. Resource: www.fema.gov/kids/ Ready Kids is a tool to help parents and teachers educate children in grades four through five about emergencies and how they can help get their family prepared. Ready Kids is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Ready campaign, a national public service advertising campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to natural disasters, potential terrorist attacks and other emergencies. The Ready Kids web site features age-appropriate, step-by-step instructions on what families can do to be better prepared and the role kids can play in this effort. State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency
The mission of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency is to coordinate activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. The support this mission, the agency has an Ohio Emergency Operations Plan that provides a comprehensive framework for statewide emergency management while:
- Addressing the administrative and operational functions, authorities and responsibilities of the organizations of state government;
- Providing a link with the federal, local and private organizations that may be activated to address emergencies in Ohio;
- Ensures consistency with current policy guidance and describes the interrelationship with other levels of government; and
- Continues to evolve, reflecting lessons learned from actual experiences in disasters and ongoing state planning, training and exercise activities.

Bullying and Cyber Safety
Bullying is the intentional act of harassment or cruelty to another. Bullying can cause physical pain, mental anguish, and intimidation. The acts can be physical, written, or spoken. Cyber bullying is done online or through a communication device. What is known about bullying is that it can have devastating consequences and must be addressed. To address this topic, the State Support Team offers resources that can be of assistance to administrators, educators, agency personnel, and parents.
