State Support Teams support and technical assistance relating to state and federal special education initiatives, laws and regulations to parents and families. This includes referrals and guidance for resources and services for children through age 21. State Support Teams also provide assistance to parents and districts involved in potentially contentious special education issues.
State Support Teams answer questions about special education, including identification and evaluation, individualized education programs (IEPs), discipline, placement and related services.
State Support teams provide technical assistance and learning opportunities to parents that enhance parent participation in their child's education, and provide information about district and community resources and services for children through age 21.
