Eight area schools Purple Star status proclaimed

The Ohio Department of Education has newly proclaimed Northwood High School as a Purple Star School for its efforts to serve and support students from military families, while renewing such status for three other schools in metro Toledo and four more in the surrounding area.

The designation certifies that schools have established a special liaison for military-connected students and their families and maintain dedicated pages on their websites with links to appropriate resources.

Along with adding Northwood High to the state’s Purple Star list, that status has been renewed for Waterville Primary School, Anthony Wayne High School, Swanton Middle School, Liberty Center and Liberty-Benson high schools, and two schools in the Salem-Benton-Carroll district: Oak Harbor High School and R.C. Waters Elementary School.
