Each year, districts and community schools receive a Special Education Profile that shows whether they are meeting their goals over time for students with disabilities. The Special Education Profile displays the district’s and community school’s performance on key indicators established by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and informs the district or community school of any required activities based on these indicators. The design of the Special Education Profile helps districts and community schools use data about services and outcomes for students with disabilities to continue improving their special education programs. Districts and community schools must complete all required activities detailed in the Special Education Profile to demonstrate compliance with IDEA.
The Department will email notifications to superintendents, special education contacts, and community school sponsors when the Special Education Profile is released. Profiles are available through the OHID Portal.
