Purple Star Designation Application Window is Open

Purple Star Award LogoThe Ohio Department of Education is accepting applications for the Purple Star School designation now through December 15.

Purple Star schools show a significant commitment to serving students and families connected to the nation’s armed forces. All applicants must demonstrate a commitment to meeting the unique social, emotional and academic needs of Ohio’s military-connected youth.

A Purple Star school receives the designation for three years, after which the school can reapply. If your school is eligible for a Purple Star designation renewal will receive an invitation to apply via email.

Members of the Purple Star Class of 2022 will be announced in April, the Month of the Military Child.
