Special Education Profiles Released

The Department released the 2022-2023 Special Education Profile for all districts and community schools January 5, 2023. The Special Education Profile displays the district’s performance on key indicators established by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and informs the district of any required activities based on these indicators. Districts must complete all required activities detailed in the Special Education Profile to demonstrate compliance with IDEA. The Department is releasing the 2022-2023 Special Education Profile in two phases:

  1. The first release, which occurred Jan. 5, contains all indicators that may have required actions. This includes compliance, disproportionality and survey indicators. Exiting indicators also are in this release and may have required actions for the first time this year.
  2. The second release, targeted for May 2023, will add informational student outcome indicators that do not have required actions.
