Public district guidance released related to opening, closing, or restructuring schools
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has released new IRN guidance for public districts planning to open, close, or restructure schools.
The new Public School IRN Management Guidance Document outlines the IRN decision-making and approval process, while this Guide to Requesting Changes in OEDS provides step‑by‑step instructions for submitting updates in the system. Both documents are posted on the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS) webpage.
With the 2026-2027 IRN change cycle underway, districts considering 2027-2028 updates are encouraged to review the guidance for a smooth approval process.
