The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has opened the 2026-2027 Special Education Model Policies and Procedures survey for completion. All educational agencies are required to upload verification of local school board approval of related policies and procedures for the education of children with disabilities for the 2026-2027 school year through the Monitoring System by November 30, 2026. The Special Education Model Policies and Procedures with noted changes is available on the Department’s Operating Standards and Guidance webpage.
- If an educational agency completed this action for the 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 school year and it was approved by the Department, this educational agency can resubmit the same documentation from the 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 school year.
- If an educational agency did not complete this action, the educational agency will need to determine if it will adopt Ohio’s Special Education Model Policies and Procedures or create its own. Follow the steps for adoption outlined in Ohio’s Special Education Policies and Procedure Submission Process.
