Starting this school year, Ohio’s Attendance Dashboard will populate data from EMIS

In April, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce launched Ohio’s Attendance Dashboard alongside the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network as a tool for local communities to start a conversation and work together to help students show up, stay engaged, and succeed.

Beginning this school year, the data in the dashboard will populate using district EMIS data. This change will:

  • Improve accuracy and consistency statewide.
  • Eliminate extra work for schools and districts.
  • Align the dashboard with data processes schools and districts already have in place.

School and district attendance data will begin populating as early as this week depending on district start dates. The dashboard will show no changes for schools and districts during weeks when no EMIS data is submitted.

Questions about the dashboard and Ohio’s attendance laws can be directed to attendance@education.ohio.gov.
