Ohio’s Learning Standards for English Language Arts define grade-level expectations for K-12 skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language to ensure all students are college- and career-ready in literacy.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is updating these standards to fully align with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s ReadOhio initiative, Ohio’s Science of Reading policies, and Ohio’s List of High-Quality Instructional Materials for English Language Arts.
The Department is seeking feedback on the proposed draft standards for kindergarten through grade 2 English language arts. The public comment survey will close Feb. 13.
