In this four part series, participants will dig into various sources of data to support district and school improvement to increase student outcomes. Each session will explore data available to all schools and how that data can be used to identify critical needs and make decisions that will have a positive impact on student achievement.  It is strongly suggested that participants register for all four sessions in this series, however, it is not mandatory. Topics include:

Understanding the New Report Card – Starting with the 2021-22 school yea, Ohio’s school accountability system will include numerous changes to the report cards for schools and districts. The State Support Team will walk participants through the report card changes, what data is included in each component, and the calculations used to determine each component’s rating.

Exploring Advanced Reports – This session will expose participants to the Ohio Department of Education’s Report Portal, which allows users to take a deeper look at ODE’s data. Participants will explore the public data reports to find data for various topics including: discipline, enrollment, financial, graduation, student attendance, test results, value added, college and career readiness, improving at-risk K3 readers, teacher and staff, early learning, and similar districts.

Interpreting and Applying  Education Value-Added Assessment System (EVAAS)Data – EVAAS data is more than a color. In this session, participants will learn ow to interpret and apply EVAAS data from all levels (District, School, Teacher, Student) to inform school decision-making practices that improve instruction and student achievement. Participants will practice having consistent conversations around EVAAS data and will create a plan for using EVAAS data in their schools.

Maximizing Instructional Capacity – Participants in this session will lean how to use student and teacher data to set up teachers for success and create building schedules that are most effective for student learning.
