The Literacy Leaders Network is a universal support for district, building and community school leaders to leverage Ohio’s Improvement Process, to strengthen local language and literacy practices and processes from Birth – 12 for all learners, and to ensure effective implementation and sustainability. The intent of the network sessions are to foster and promote collaboration and sharing while building leadership capacity in knowledge specific to reading science. Topics are guided by Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement, state literacy legislation (i.e. HB 436 & HB 583, HB 497) and network participants local priorities. Topics will also include content specific to structured literacy with an emphasis on enriching oral language, vocabulary, writing, family engagement, and adolescent literacy practices.
