Throughout the years, we have learned in education that family and community engagement is more than volunteers and parent teachers conferences. According to Dr. Joyce Epstein, a prominent researcher in the field, partnerships with families  and the surrounding community are needed in order to create healthy schools, where students benefit from positive academic gains, physical health, and emotional growth. This research, along with Dr. Epstein’s 6 Keys to Schools, Family and Community Partnerships, has been incorporated into a framework implemented by the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS). In this model, schools, families, and community partners work together to address school improvement goals, increasing positive outcomes for all.

This one hour virtual overview is intended to provide more information about NNPS so district administrators can make an informed decision about implementing the framework.
