The Ohio Department of Education requires districts/programs offer a continuum of special education services. Preschool Itinerant Specialists assist in fulfilling this requirement as they provide special education services in the child’s Least Restrictive Environment (e.g., home, community child care setting, public preschool program). Itinerant professionals face challenges that can differ from their classroom-based colleagues. Topic for each sessions include:
- October 6, 2023 Session: Ongoing updates and collaborative discussions on developing partnerships with caregivers, sharing resources, coaching and promoting strategies to support student growth.
- January 5, 2024 Session: Ongoing updates and ways discussion on the powerful role of play in early learning and ways to provide interventions and strategies within.
Time will also be embedded for participants to actively engage in discussion with other itinerant providers within Region 1 & 6.
